Tinton Falls is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The 2010 United States Census reported that the population of the borough was 17,892. This represents an increase in population of 2,839, from the 15,053 in the 2000 Census. The New Jersey Legislature established the borough of New Shrewsbury in August 1950. This was based upon the results of the July 18th, 1950 referendum. The borough’s total area was 15.60 sq. miles, which included 15.48 sq. miles of land and 0.13 km2 of water. Wayside is home to several unincorporated communities, localities, and place names that are partially or entirely within the borough. The borough borders the Monmouth County municipalities of Colts Neck Township, Eatontown, Middletown Township, Neptune Township, Ocean Township, Red Bank, Shrewsbury, Shrewsbury Township, and Wall Township.
When you’re in town, you can visit the popular Overlook by the Falls which is located near the town’s waterfalls. It is a wildlife area with trails that allow visitors to see the falls. Hockhockson Park has three fields for baseball and two courts for basketball. Liberty II Park has two fields for football and two courts for basketball. Riverdale West Park has two fields for soccer and a court. The Sycamore Recreation Complex offers six multi-purpose fields with lighted lighting. Shark River Park is the first to be included in the Monmouth County Park System. It covers 961 acres along the Shark River in parts of Tinton Falls and Neptune Township. Tinton Falls also has the Twin Brook Golf Center offers a 9-hole public course and an 18-hole mini-golf course.
