Things to do in Howell, New Jersey

Howell Township is a municipality in Monmouth County. It’s located in New Jersey. The county’s largest municipality is located in the township, covering approximately 61.21 sq. miles. It is located within the New York Metropolitan area and is a growing bedroom community in New York City. The population of the township as of the 2020 United States Census was 53,537. Through an act of the New Jersey Legislature dated February 23, 1801, Howell Township was made a township using parts of Shrewsbury Township. Brick Township was formed in Ocean County, February 15, 1850. Wall Township was formed on March 7, 1851. Farmingdale was created on April 8, 1903. Richard Howell, who was also the township’s third Governor of New Jersey was Richard Howell. 

 

The United States Census Bureau stated that the township had an area of 61.21 miles with 60.27 miles of land and 0.94 miles of water. Howell was established from territory taken out of Shrewsbury Township. The act of the New Jersey General Assembly was passed on February 23, 1801. If you’re in town for a visit, you might want to stop by Manasquan Reservoir. This is a nature- and exercise-friendly area that offers jogging/biking, fishing, bird watching, and dog walking. A nature exhibit is also available at the reservoir. Another place to explore is Alfred C. Sauer Park at Echo Lake. This place offers a dock to fish and kayak and a nature trail. It also has a pavilion with a view of the lake that can also be rented.

It boasts a 4.5 stars rating and has a variety of flavors you can choose from. You can also visit Season’s Coal Fired Bistro if you love pizza and other Italian food. Woolley’s Seafood House is also a great place to have dinner in and to just have fun in general. Howell Township has a lot of great places you can drop by if you’re passing through or even if you’re in town for a vacation.
