Christine Matus, founder of The Matus Law Group, was quoted in Rolling Stone’s October 17, 2026 article “Who Gets to Own Rock & Roll History?” The article looks at the demolition of the home in Mahwah, New Jersey, where electric-guitar pioneer Les Paul lived from 1952 until his death in 2009.
Christine was one of two local probate lawyers who reviewed a copy of Les Paul’s 1995 will obtained by Rolling Stone. They said the foundation was within its rights to decide what to do with the property. Christine also noted that “everything is emotional when it comes to legacy planning,” adding, “The more they can communicate with the family and those who are interested in it, the better it would be.”
