Things To Do in Ocean, New Jersey

Ocean Township is a municipality in east central Monmouth County. It’s located in New Jersey. Ocean Township is made up of Wanamassa and Oakhurst. The township can be divided into two ZIP codes: 07755 (Oakhurst) and 07712 (Wanamassa & Wayside); the main city is Asbury Park. The 2010 United States Census showed that the population of the township was 27,291, a 332 increase from the 26,959 recorded in the 2000 Census. The United States Census Bureau reported that the total area of the township was 10.99 sq. miles, with 10.87 square miles of land and 0.13 square miles of water. Oakhurst and Wanamassa are both unincorporated communities and census designated places (CDPs) within Ocean Township. The township is bordered by the Monmouth County municipalities of Eatontown and West Long Branch on the north; Long Branch, Deal, Allenhurst, and Interlaken on the east; Neptune and Asbury Park on the south; and Tinton Falls on the west.

 

Ocean Township is home to five parks. Joe Palaia Park is the location of the Township’s July Fourth celebration. Weltz Park is also located in Ocean Township, which is an undeveloped parcel of the Monmouth County Park System. The township has a tennis and swimming club with a membership. It is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Ocean City is also home to one of New Jersey’s most beautiful beaches. But it offers more than just sand and surfing. There are many activities available for all ages in the city. You can also visit Gillian’s Wonderland Pier is home to more than thirty attractions and rides for guests to choose from and has been around for over seventy years at the Boardwalk. There’s also the Ocean City Historical Museum where you can find numerous treasures that date back to before the city was founded in 1879, as well as items from the more recent past of Ocean City, New Jersey.

 

When it comes to food, you can’t miss Hula Grill in Ocean City. They’re the only restaurant serving Hawaiian food in Cape May County. The Hula Grill offers both indoor and outdoor seating and serves Hawaiian and American classics as well as fresh seafood for lunch and dinner seven days per week. If you want to eat somewhere near the beach, you can drop by Oves Beach Grill. This place serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and also offers bike rentals and space for private parties. Open every day of the week between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the restaurant was originally opened by Tom Oves Sr. after people would ask him where they should eat breakfast after renting a bike in the morning. There are still a lot of other great places to visit in Ocean, so make sure to enjoy your time there.
