Long Branch can be found in Monmouth County, United States. The 2010 United States Census showed that the population of the city was 30,719. Long Branch was established as the Long Branch Commission on April 11, 1867. It was created from parts of Ocean Township. The New Jersey Legislature incorporated Long Branch as a city on April 8, 1903. This was based on the results from a referendum. Long Branch takes its name from the “long branch” or south branch of the Shrewsbury River. The United States Census Bureau reported that the city had a total area of 6.29 sq. miles, which included 5.12 sq. miles of land and 1.16 km2 of water.
